Magic spells were in the air on the first eve of Thanksgiving weekend. What had been senior students dressed in jeans and t-shirts in June were suddenly transformed into sophisticated, worldly post- graduate students wearing black gowns and gold collars. Flashes were continually illuminating the ceremony as each proud parent captured the moment on film. Before a capacity filled gym, Lance Dobinson opened the graduation programme with the singing of the national anthem. For the next two hours, our former. Fighting Owls crossed the stage to receive an abundance of diplomas, awards and scholarships. Cassie Christie recited her valedictorian speech before an emotional crowd. All too soon, the evening ended and our grads were swept away to another world, one that would be far different from the protective arms of CCI.
