The CCI Varsity Girls Hockey Program made great strides during the 2006-2007 campaign toward being a future GBSSA contender. This young squad, with 10 of 18 players still junior aged, posted a record of 5 -10 3. Most importantly, in posting that record the team competed in every game it played, losing games often by only one goal closing the gap significantly between local rivals Jean Vanier and Stayner.
Rookie Kiri Langford led the team in points with 11, 6 goals and 5 assists. Team captain

Owls faired well facing Park Street in the first round of playoffs and advancing with a 2-1 H victory, thanks to the last minutes heroics of Danielle Genoe. In the quarter-final match, Ju the Owls faced the reigning GBSSA champions from Eastview. Despite losing the garne3 a( 1, the girls proved that they are able to skate with the top teams in our region. Ml The team loses four players to graduation this year - Sam Martin whose leadership and M1 willingness to learn earned her assistant-captain status in her final year. Meghan Perry, a N) player who always showed up to games ready to play and provided energy and hustle on Po every shift; Anne Belanger, who chipped in 7 points and was our penalty killing specialist; Sk Katie Bell, a franchise player whose absence will never be filled. W The future of Girls Hockey at CCI looks bright. Coaches McMillan and Kennedy thank the girls for a great year and look forward to start-up in the fall of 2007. M
