The Ow~posted one of their most impressive teamresults in recent memory as they made the most everyopportunitytoshineontheoval,inthepitsandonthethrowingfields. Inall,nearly40athletes made the Black and Gold proud with gutsy efforts- setting 5newschool, records along the way.
The copetative season started on adefinite high note as the Owls ventured toYork University to the North Simcoe Zone Championships and in true team fashion came away with ameet victory- the first timeC.C.!.hadcapturedthatcrowninover20years. Thatday,36ofC.C.I.'scontingentof39qualified f o r GB ' s i n d i v i d u a l l y o r a s p a r t o f a r e l a y !
At GBSSAChampionships Katie Bell started the day grabbing aGBindividual title in the Open Gir~' SteeplechasewhileRyanFergusongrabbedfirst inboththeJuniorBoys' IOOmand200mevents. In addition, I2 other Owls qualified for the Central Ontario OFSAARegional Championships out of GB's.
At Regiona~,Michaela Martin captured 3rd in the Midget Girls' Javelin thus moving on to the OFSAA Fina~. T h e J u n i o r G i r l s 4 x l O O m r e l a y a l s o q u a l i f i e d f o r t h e O F S A A Fina~ i m p r e s s i v e l y m o v i n g f r o m their IIthplacerankingtograb3rd. TheOwlsquadofShelbyGreer,ShannonPaulenko,JackieGilpin and Jaimee Glover tore almost 3seconds off their season best time and set anew school record in the process.
Ryan Ferguson continued his dominance in the sprint lanes as he captured first place honours in the Junior Boys lOOm- setting anewschool record of 11.22 seconds as well as the 200m-destroying the field in atime of 22.73 seconds- atime that was faster than the OFSAArecord in the event!

9th in the lOOmand narrowly missed the podiumtaking 4th in the 200mafter ripping another half secondofhistime. TheJuniorGirls'relayalsoputforththeirbesteffortsastheymissedthefinalbut beat all of the teams fromthis region.
