Student representatives of Collingwood Collegiate from the grade 10 Civics courses as well as grade 11 law participated in Student Vote. Collingwood is one of many Ontario wide High Schools that participated in the cunent Provincial Election. Student Vote is a province wide mock election that Ontario High schools as well as Elementary schools were able to take part in during called elections. All members of the student body were encouraged to vote on October 4th during lunch period for their desired local candidate.
October 3 perhaps shared the most excitement though, as Collingwood Collegiate hosted its own Student Debate. Student representatives from each of the four Civics classes took on the role of their classes chosen party, representing their patty leader and local candidate. Major issues were discussed in the debate including education. The debate was short
one political representative from the Green patty, but that changed
when a crowd member volunteered to represent the Green party in the debate

He spoke with passion and elegance of character. Hence, the spontaneity of political genius was greatly conveyed in this debate, not only by all the speakers but even those that
emerged from the crowd of on seers
