Badminton is a racquet sport played with two opposing players or two opposing pairs. They take position on a rectangular court divided in half by a low net. Players score points by striking a shuttlecock with the racquet so that it passes over the net and lands on the opponents court.
Despite a shortened season the badminton season got off to a fantastic start. The regional tournament was attended by a group of very keen and talented player, some of whom were playing their very first tournament. The smashing combo of Peter Currie and Gannon Rodgers placed second in the senior boy's doubles, and exchange student, Yuki Akimoto finished first in boys singles. They will be attending the GB tournament held at Georgian College where they will face stiffer competition from all over Georgian Bay in hopes of, making it to OFFSA.
