CREATINGTHECCIGLEANERONESTEPATA TIME
Yearbook class, as the title suggests, is a class dedicated to the production of the school yearbook, also known as the Gleaner. The class teacher, Ms. Meadows, gives lessons in graphic design, photography, and layout, which are the main components in creating a visually interesting yearbook. The photography skill is arguably the most important in creating a good yearbook. Pictures make up the majority of the book, and capture the memories of the student body as they happen. The yearbook class strives to take pictures that are composed in interesting ways, while also hoping to immortalize the highlights of the school year. The graphic design skill allows for pages with a comprehensive message, combining words and text to create a specific meaning or feeling, which is then conveyed to the reader. That's you! Lastly, layout is what decides where the pictures and information are put. The program that is used to publish the yearbook comes
with hundreds of predesigned templates and tools, which students then select and
edit to fit the vision they
have for a page. A lot of
hard work goes in to
creating this book, and
without a great team of
students behind it, it
would never be
possible. Cheers to them!
