Although the swim season for CCI athletes was e e l short, we can be thankful we got a couple of
months training in as well as a a road trip to
Toronto.
Coaches Mr. Funston, Ms. Teskey, and Ms. Hillock took the CCI swim team to Toronto where we rented a pool for an intensive two hour training camp followed by the University of Toronto High School Invitational the next day—with a bit of Christmas shopping and team bonding in between. Highlights of the meet include Kirsten McFarlane winning the 50m Butterfly and taking the silver in the 50m Breaststroke, Nicole Rennie finishing 2nd in the 100m Butterfly, Michaela Klasen swimming to a 2nd in the 50m Freestyle, and all of our relay teams finishing in the top 3 in each relay event. Jason Langford, Leisbeth Frontjes, Maddy Whitton, and Hutton Noth also found themselves consistently in the top 8 in their events.
