Rick Mercer visited CCI
on November 21st, 2013 to do a segment on CCI's marching band (Canada's largest high school marching band). We made him audition for positions on the quad drums, the snare drum, the bass drum, the jingle bells, the sousaphone, and eventually found him a spot as the drum major. He got to hangout with the entire band and see all of our school. He also tested his ability as drum major by leading the band through the school, marching through the hallways, classrooms, library and even Mr. Stone's office to entertain everyone in his path.

Nathan's words of
wisdom to Rick were
"Just be sassy", and
with some advice on
some dance moves to
do throughout the march, they caught the
attention of the crowd and made for an eventful night at the parade.
Rick was happy to have come to the school, and said that this piece was apolitical, meaning it wasn't meant to make fun of others, but to celebrate our great band and share us with the rest of the country.
