A Drama Club was formed in 1951 and suffered 8rowin8 pains with little fundin8 and few participants. The club performed when asked and their bi88esl play was " The Case of the Weird 6islers" produced for Commencement. It was at this lime. however. that entertainment came into its own with the presen- tation of a ni8hl Biven over solely to a production. and Variety Ni8hl was bom. This production was not to be confused with the Drama Club which continued to produce plays. either for presentation at a drama festival or simply for presentation to the community in a Ni8hl of Plays. or as an item in Variety Ni8hl. The fiflies witnessed many Variety Ni8hls and plays: ·'for Whom the Telephone Qin8s.. directed by Mrs. Carruthers, " The Valiant" directed by Mr. Gua8neli. "The Perfect Gentleman" directed by Mr. Collins. In 1959. the Drama Club produced their bi88esl show. 6haw·s Py8malian slarrin8 Claire and Bill tlawkins. and follow- ed the same year with Julius Caesar. slarrin8 Andrew Markle. Walter Borthwick. David Butlers and DoU8 Webb. Kathryn Rup- pert and Judy Watson.
