Februari 14 is Cupid's day but he came early to the C. 'C. I. February 9 was the big day of the Cupid Capers.
Who says love drives away the appetites? All day the halls buzzed with descriptions of sumptuous cakes baked
by the girls. Wait aminute--I haven't forgotten you boys. Several boys turned in good cakes for tlle contest too. Miss Morrison judged the cakes and Leola Miller was proclai~ed the "C. C. I. Official Cake Baker?! with Joyce Boyland' runner up. Leola and Joyce re ceived their prizes later at the dance.
The dance Friday night was a grand success. Everyone enjoyed the dancing to some of the most popular records.
The gym was ~isguised with soft lights and coloured balloons floating over the dancer's heads. Cake and cokes provided the refreshments and several of the cakes were awarded as prizes.
The climax of the evening came when thG ballot boxes for the most popular girl were opened. (Each for~ had a representativG and voting for the Wueen of Heerts was done by dropping pennies into the eleven ballot boxes ). When the pennies were counted Susan Westcott was proclaimed Queen 6f H~art~ and crowned by Mr. Boyle and presented the winning cake of th e contest.
