    JUNIOR FUOTBALL TEAM
The Collingwood Junior Football team had a very 'uceesstul season this year, although weather and plain hard luck finally caught up with them. They started off at the first of the season with a bang, scoring four touchdowns against Midland while holding them to one touchdown. Collingwood continued with wins over Orillia and a very strong, experi- enced Barrie team.
The second game with Midland was almost a replica of the first, with the same score. The next game, in Orillia, proved a fatal one as the fast-moving Collingwood backfield was bogged down by a layer of mud over the whole field. The Orillia club capitalized on this and soma critical fumbles on Collingwood's part put the score at a 1-0 over Collingwood on a kick.
The last game of the season, played in Barri.e, was an important one as Barrie and Collingwood were tied for first place. In this game Frank Butters was hurt and the Barrie team simply outplayed our team. f1nally beating us 24-0
Collingwood with many new boys on the team this year did well and the speedy backfield of Hugh Butters, Frank Butters, Jim Whitehead and Ken Ruddick carried a big load. The complete scoring was done by the backfield except for an important touchdown in the Orillia game scored by the End, Ian Cairns on a pass from Ken Ruddick Quarterback.
