This play is a chillingly dramatic story of the last few minutes of an unknovm murderer's life• .Although he said his name was James Dyke, the police knew this name was an alias. The warden and the chaplain spent their time and energy on the problem; the prisoner was even granted half an hour after the scheduled hanging time to see
a girl, Josephine Parks, who insisted he was her brother. Dyke, enigmatic to the
