Many people ask-"Why Home Economics?" Home Economics offers an opportunity for girls to succeed, depending upon the effort made by the student. Girls and mothers no longer find companionship over a wood fire or a needle and thread. The roles of the family members have changed. Home Economics is concerned with that change, and includes in its curric- ulum much more than "cooking and sewing."
The study of better relationships between people, of decorating the home, of budgeting time, money and energy, of the history of costume, and of textile fibres, interests and challenges today's youth.
A course in Home Economics enables a girl to know better how to get along with others and adds to her chances of having a satisfying career and a happy home.
