C. C. I. Concert Band
Although beset by problems of organization and administration, the Band has enjoyed a reasonably successful year.
In April of 1962, the Collingwood Band played host to the band of Camp Borden Collegiate which is directed by Mr. K. M. Hollier, formerly Director of Music here. This event was held in Stayner, and although attendance was poor, the event was a success socially.
In more recent months, the Band has participated in "Variety Night", the annual Cadet Inspection, and a concert given in May of 1962. This event was well received by the public. The Band also assisted at the Annual Commencement in September and again at the Christmas Assembly.
Among the most interesting of the Band's activities this year have been a concert given to Senior Citizens in Midhurst Park on September 9th, and a somewhat damp afternoon's playing at the Great Northern Exhibition on September 19th.
Unfortunately, plans to provide an "exchange concert" with an Ottawa High School Band failed to materialize this year.
