G. B. S. S. A. Junior Football
The Junior team this year, under coaches Mr.•Titus and Mr. Willis, had a fairly successful season, marred only by losses to Stayner and Barrie North. All the games were of good quality.
The Juniors this year were very fortunate, in that all of last year's line, in its entirety, returned. Led by guards Daryl McKenzie (Captain) and Bob Stoutenburg (Co-captain), the line blocked very effectively. The defensive line, led by massive Reg Wilson and Wilbur Scrannage, was very good.
In the backfield there were only two returning from last year. Led by Jim Hay (leading scorer), Pete Card, and Terry Gordon, the backfield did a good job of carrying the ball. The "find" of the year was the elusive rookie, Peter Stoutenburg, who, filling in for injured Jim Hay, became the team's leading ground gainer.
The majority of this year's team will be Senior next year, but with the backfield nudeus of Peters, Card, and Stoutenburg, and Lloyd Harrison and Larry Gibbons on the line, the Junior team should again have a profitable season.
