Senior Football
This could almost be sub-titled "the Charge of the Light Brigade." The Seniors were constantly fighting a manpower problem, but under the coaches, Mr. Russell and Mr. Freudeman, did more than could be asked for under the circumstances. Most of the players were required to play both ways almost sixty minutes per game, and minor aches and pains were ignored.
The attack featured the passing of quarterback Ron Mc}\ean and the running of Chuck McNicol, Brian Hodges and Ted Wilson. The end positions were very strong with Ken McKean and Norm Wagner proving to be tops at this position. Jim Gruno would make anybody's all-star team at the guard spot, and he received due recognition with the presentation of the Titus-Robertson trophy, awarded annually to the top Senior and the top Junior, based on sportsmanship and ability. Doug Stoll, Brian Ruppert, John Walsh, Frank Hale, Grant Hammill, strengthened the line, and DeanMcDermid,Ian McCarl, Paul Penny, Fred Sproule, and Bob Duggan rounded out the backfield, Congratulations are extended for a fine season as the Seniors won three, lost three, and tied one.
