Midget G. B. S. S. A. Basketball Tearn
Comprised entirely of rookies, this year's Midget team did very well. Coach Russell made full use of the shooting power of Dave Homuth and Mike Scott, who usually managed to score thirty points per game between them. Centre spot was controlled by Roy Dahl, whose rebounding was a big factor both in the scoring and in the defensive play. Reid Stewart and Roger Wright bewildered the opposition with their effective playmaking and ball-handling. The driving lay-ups and sturdy defensive play of George Palmer often meant the difference between victory and defeat.
Although they did not finish first in their league, the Midgets came very close to it. They will definitely provide strong material for next year's Junior team. A Junior title, for the second year in succession, may be indicated.
