We are very happy to say that the Collegiate Curling Club has greatly increased its member- ship this year. Although still small, the club manages to have plenty of fun along with good curling. Because of the large number of begin- ners, it took the club a while to get fully under way, but soon things were going strong.
The C. C. I. Curling Club is given the use of the rink on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 4: 15 to 5:30. There is no charge for using the ice.
At the end of the season the club will play off for a trophy. This trophy was donated to the club by Mr. Howard Schleifer.
Also curling with the Collegiate this year were a large number of grade eight public school students. Our idea here is they will be the future
Collegiate curlers.
On February the 6th, the Collegiate Curling
Club held its first annual bonspiel. This was a smashing success, with rinks from as far away as Cooksville, Wiarton, Midland and Walkerton participating.
Mel Brock's Collingwood rink placed third in the eleven o'clock draw in this bonspiel.
The Curling Club thanks Mr. Hastings for his help in the organization of the club this year.
