Those girls who elect Home Ecomonics as one of their options next year will discover that the curriculum has been changed.
Now, although the course of study for Grade 9 and 10 is still divided into two sections--Foods and Clothing--the topics studies are much broader in scope.
The course of study for Grade 11 is divided into two sections. Section 1 is Family Develop- ment--a sociological study of the family and its effect upon the individual, plus a very interesting course in foreign foods. Here, the girls have an opportunity to m a k e and taste new and exotic foods. Section 11 includes Textiles and Clothing, concertrating on those new synthetics so useful and popular today.
The coUT se of study for Grade 12 is also divided into two sections. Section 1 includes a study of Major Problems in World Nutrition and Management for Modern Families, while Section 11 cove r s the challenging topic of Housing and Interior Design.
