C. C. I. Curling Club By Nancy Ardiel
The C.C.I. Curling Club is a relatively small but happy club. The membership has in- creased since it was reorganized last year by our staff adviser, Mr. Hastings.
We curl every Tuesday and Thursday from 4: 10 to 5:30. There is no charge for the use of the ice.
Our club sent a rink to the G. B.S. S. Bonspiel at Orillia. Mr. McLean drove Rob Shannon (skip), Bert Robinson (vice-skip), Dave Leal (second), and Mike Spencley (lead) to the Bon- spiel. They were defeated in the semi-finals.
The same rink was not as successful at the Pepsi Bonspiel held at Camp Borden. However, at a Bonspiel in Thornbury a mixed team (Rob Shannon, Sue Procknow, Bob Smith, and Sharon McCarl) placed third.
At our own Bonspiel, February 5, Orillia was first (32 points), Bert Robinson's team: Sue Ardiel, Brian Hodgart, and Joane Lyons,
second (24 points) and Stayner third (23 points) in the nine o'clock draw. In the eleven o'clock draw, Camp Borden was first (27 points), Alliston secohd and Dave Leal's team: Nancy Ardiel; Mike Spen c ley; and Judy Sinclair; third (25 points). In all there were twenty teams competing.
