Soccer
This year again as usual, the soccer team nicknamed the "Rogues", were the most success- ful team in the school. In theM. E. S. T. C. (Meaford, Elmvale, Stayner, Thornbury, and Collingwood) league they won the championship for the second time in three years by going un- defeated in 6 league games.
They- entered the G. B.S. S. A. playdowns but were defeated by a strong Alliston team in a two game -series played during the year's first snowfall.
The scoring punch was provided by forwards John Stephenson, Ron Picot, Gary Shaw, Doug
by Roy Dahl
Dowling and Dave Skelton. Goaltender Casey
Meesters was protected by an adequate defense led by Captain Arnold Meesters, Henry Badowski and Ed Kea. Stephenson was the leading scorer but the main reason for the team's success was the tremendous spirit and determination instilled in the players by coaches Van deWeerdhof and Beckett.
This year's success was most surpnsmg because most of the stars of former years had to be replaced by many inexperienced but eager players. This indicates that the Rogues have a promising future and should provide many thrills in the forthcoming years.
