For the first time, the G. B. S. S. A. volley- ball tournament was hosted by the C. C . I. on Nov . 25. C. C. I. was represented by a Senior team under the able coaching of Mr. Fischer.
They put on an excellent performance and were contenders for the championship all the way. In the first game they were victorious over Barrie Central and then beat Parry Sound easily to reach thefinalswherethey met agreat- ly improved Central team. Central emerged the winners in a thrilling best of 3 final series. Cur team was led by spikers Dave Homuth and John Stephenson who were capably backed up by Robert Pazzi, Roy Dahl, Ron Starret, Reid Stewart, Dave Skelton, Pete Parker and Dawson Scotney. It was a great loss when George Palmer, one of our best spikers was unable to play in the tournament.
On the whole , the tournament was a success due mainly to the energetic work of many en- ergetic students. A hearty thank you should be extended to those students and teachers who helped make the tournament a success by offic- iating and scoring.
