The year 1966-67 will be an eventful one, filled to capacity with hard work, playing dates and feverish excitem ent. This is the year the Co 11 in gw o o d Collegiate Concert and Marching Band is our school's official representative at Expo 67, Montreal. Dedicated bandsmen and the able guidance of Mr. Arnason, our Music Instructor, have enabled this to become a fact. Growing admiration of our band's reputation has given us all the support we need plus a full slate of playing engagements. We are even going to be put in Collingwood's Centennial Booklet.
Not only has our band become self-sufficient, but we have several fund-raising schemes to help the individual members on their way to Expo. Among these are bake sales and a baby sitting organization as well as the Christmas tree sales and ushering at the Senior Hockey games for the Band Association as a whole.
Mr. Arnason is hopeful of taking a seventy-two piece band and major- ettes to Montreal. But previous to this are our many parades and con- certs plus trips to other schools to perform. A trip to O'Keefe Centre in Toronto and parties fill our our social schedule. As you have seen, this year is a notable one for us in the band. Now all we need to do is practice!
These are the band members who are going to Expo 67. Since the photo- graph was taken there have been a number of additions.
