Office procedures have certainly changed during the last one hundred and twenty years. When Canada Life was established in 1847, there were neither postage stamps nor a practical typewriter. All letters were hand-written andcopiedbymeansofaletterpress,using moisture and pressure into a correspondence bookfor permanent record.
Today, thanks to modern computers, much of the drudgery has been removed from our dally work. These machines have allowed people to specialize in fields which are extremely interesting and challenging.
