     CHEERLEADERS
After the long football season this year, we improved steadily until we were at our peak during basketball season. The many exciting games encouraged us to work harder in supporting our teams.
The Cheerleaders attended the Cheer-a- rama in Meaford for the first time this year. We practised for a month and had many dis- appointments, but we finally made it with the assistance of Miss Biggins and Robert Crysler to whom we are thankful. We got up and did our routine as best we could, proud of our colours. Collingwood did not place in the competition, but Jan Avery did succeed in placing as runner up for Miss Cheerleader. We came away with hope of doing much better next year.
I would like to thank our two advisors, Mrs. Hughes and Miss Mychajlowska for their guidance as well as their interest and many new ideas. Also, we would like to thank Mrs. Hughes especially for making it possible for us to go away with the teams on a number of occasions.
Although there were complaints, whether we sald so or not at the time, I feel these helped, and thank those persons who told them to us, as well as everyone who helped and encouraged us. We certainly enjoyed the year.
