Although the Juniors did not win a lot of games this year, the team played colorful and
exciting football. This year's team was partly composed of rookies who performed commendably and who will provide a strong nucleus for next year's team.
Led by quarterbacks Don Gallacher and Dave Spence, and running backs Rick McCombie and Ted Pellar the team had a powerful ground attack. The pass catching ability of Wally Hogg, Pat McHaffie, Jack Bouwkamp and Harold Horner provided an effective aerial attack.
The defensive team this year played very well against the heavier offenses of opposing teams. Outstanding on defense were Dan Reid, Steve Cailes, Dave Stephenson, and Rick Osbourne.
In league play the Juniors won one game and tied another but all were close and could have been one way or the other. These were overshadowed by an excellent team effort in Stayner when Collingwood defeated Stayner for the first time in eight years.
Coaches Berney and Maracle are to be congratulated for a job well done. The team wishes to thank them for their fine efforts.
Don Gallacher
