Business Game
TOP ROW: Tim French , Mike Brand, Allan Robinson , lain Poste , Terry Graham. BOTTOM ROW : Laurie Weir, Cathy Saunders, Mr. Dykstra, Donna Richardson , Peter Mulholland .
The Business Game is a contest of skills and chance, sponsored yearly by the International Corpora- tion of Chartered Accountants .
It offers the senior Accountancy students a chance to compete against other teams under everyday business conditions regulated by a computer. They can make a fortune, or loose the shirt off their back overnight.
First the teams compete against other teams in their own school. The winning team from this series then compete against other teams in their area. The winner of this series will then compete on a slightly larger scale and finally they can end up competing against teams from all over North America .
Decisions are made monthly and are subjected to rigourous testing by a computer. Penalties can be imposed for spending too much money, or being conservative and not spending enough.
All in all, the students involved gain a valuable experience from this rigid competition . Allan Robinson
