The 1980 season proved to be a good one for the Junior Fighting Owls. We went as far as we could go - to the GBSSA championship. Unfortu- nately that was our one losing game of the season as we lost 14 to 6 to Markham, in a hard- fought contest.
Along the way several tri- umphs belonged to CCI! an undefeated season to finish in first place, beating Stayner 22 to 0 to win the local champion- ship, and beating Bradford and
Banting to win the Simcoe County championship. In the 15 year history of the Kennedy tro- phy 1980 is the first year for Collingwood to win it.
Reaching GBSSA was a mile- stone, as were the first CCI foot- ball team in many many years to" achieve that goal. Next year we hope to go one step further and win the GBSSA!
