         JUNIOR
FOOTBALL
The 1981 Junior Fighting Owls were a talented, and enthusiastic group of players. Forty-four boys dressed in black and gold and fought for CCI on the gridiron. While loaded with enthusiasm, the Owls were short on experience and didn't quite make the playoffs.
It was an up and down season: An opening game loss to Park St., followed by a big victory over ln- nisdale. Then we lost to Central, but cleaned Eastview. Two losses (to Banting and North) ended the season but a victory over Stayner in an exhibition game sweetened the end of the season.
Coaches Edwards and Redman were impressed with the progress made by our players, through the season. Their skills by November were greatly improved over September.
We are looking forward to a nucleus of experienced players to lead next year's Fighting Owls, on hope that the remaining players will move up to the Senior Ranks. The football fortunes of CCI have improved in recent years. If we continue to get the honest, hard- working effort that the 1981 players exhibited, the future should be great for Fighting Owl Football.
