SENIOR BOYS
The Senior Boys Volleyball Team had a successful season in 1985. The team was led by veterans Marc Lapointe, Brad Holden, and Rick Deckert to a third place finish in their league. In the zone final tournament they beat out Barrie Central, before losing to Barrie lnnisdale, the eventual GBSSA champions . The team lacked experience with many first year players out but made up for it with terrific enthusiasm and hustle. Mr. Nickel and Mr. Redmond would like to thank all team players for their committment and dedication.
JUNIOR BOYS
The Junior Boys Volleyball Team had a successful and enjoyable season . With a relatively young group of players the team finished the season with only a couple of losses . They participated in two weekend tournament s (Midland & Eastview). They made it to the semi-finals in each case losing to the eventual winners. At the zone finals the team displayed excellent team
play and advanced to the finals only to lose to their season rivals Barrie Eastview . With almost all the players returning next season the team should have an excellent upcoming season.
MIDGETBOYS
It was not to be an easy season! Three games against the top teams from Barrie and the Fighting Owls were down 3 games to nothing. But the team kept the faith and handed defeats to Banting, Jean Vanier and Bradford in short order hurray guys! Then came the Eastview Tournament -- winning one game after another, the boys took home the second prize ribbons . Unfortunately however, the playoffs were not good to us. Having forfeited our best chances the season grew steadily to an end. Everyone had a great deal of fun nevertheless . The final opposition were half-a-dozen pizzas . No problem here; we destroyed them easily at Mr. Sproule's house. Thanks for the season guys!
