Wisely catching the spirit
A week before we broke for the holidays. the staff and students of C.C.l. were given an early Christmas present - A SNOW DAY!!! Right away. we developed the urge to grab our skiis and head for Mogul Alley or the Red Trail at the Beach. However. as the week progressed. a mild spell approach- ed, but although the amount of fluffy white stuff diminished. our Christmas spirit only intensified. The halls of C.C.I. were a hub of activity as each homeroom participated in trying to capture the prize in the door decorating contest. Although there were many excellent contributions. the outstanding winners belonged to Dave Currie for his stained glass nativity scene on the History Office door and Mr. Knox's homeroom's rendition of a hot dog skier.
Following C.C.l. tradition. a gigantic Christmas rree was brought into the main foyer and Mrs. Cargo's and Mrs. Cbaudet's classes were given the task of creating decorations. If you were stuck on what to buy for your girlfriend, Student Council provided the answer with their sale of giant can- dy canes.
Friday morning we were treated to a variety of teachers singing a medley of Christmas carols in the "Guess Who is Singing" contest. Although we pve all an A+ for effort, we couldn't help. but be impressed with those per- formances by Mr. Bluemke, Mr. Berni, Mrs. Russell and Mr. Tom Moore. (We also thought that perhaps Stevie Wonder had nothing to worry about when competing with the trio of Mr. Benbow, Mr. Traynor and Mr. Knox!!
