Co-operative Education at Collingwood Collegiate is alive and well. In fact, this year we have added two new courses to our already successful Childcare Co-op and Technical, Automotive Co-op programs.
Mrs. Weston's Business English Co-op course has 16 students placed at a wide variety of locations throughout the community. The emphasis of this course is on communica- tion. Another new course is offered during second semester. Mrs. Toppings has organized the guidance Co-op program. This course is designed for students interested in career exploration as well as a placement with a community service organization.
The teachers involved in Co-op this year are: Mrs. Henley, Mrs. Stoutenburg, Mrs. Weston, Mr. Kilgour, Mr. Maracle, Mr. Gagne, Mr. Vanderweerdhof, Mr. Grant and Mr. Rhodes. Our super-efficient secretary is Mrs. Hender- son and last, but not least, our ever-popular Co-op mascot is Tom Selleck. The mascot's biggest fan is, of course, Mrs. Plater, Co-op Co-ordinator.
