On February 16, 1988, fifty students from Collingwood Col- legiate participated in the Cana- dian Mathematics Competition. A total of 60,01 0 students, representing 1,721 Canadian schools, participated in the three junior divisions for Grades 9, 10 and 11. The competition is ad- ministered by the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Water- loo, and is designed to provide enrichment opportunities and an intellectual challenge for Canada's best students of Mathematics.
The results for CCI in our zone were as follows. In the Grade 9 Pascal Contest, CCI placed third out of 18 schools, being edged by Parry Sound and Barrie North. Greg Smith scored the highest,
followed by Adam Dinsmore, Marc Nelitz, Heather Reimer, Mike Lougheed, Andrea Saunders, Fred Deboard and Stefan Somborac. These students were named to the Zone 64 Honour Roll and received a Certificate of Distinction.
In the Grade 10 Cayley Contest, our team placed 4th out of 14 schools, edged by Park Street, Barrie Central and Barrie North. Stephen Crane was the top scorer for CCI followed by Eric Simpson, Elise Croll, Cherie Wardell, Jen- nifer Smith, Jennifer Booth, Stuart Currie, Matt Loveless, Aaron Harn- den, Jody Ottewell, Glenn Duyvestyn, Tim Culham and Jason Brearley. These students were placed in the Zone 64 Honour Roll and received Certificates of
Distinction.
The Grade 11 Termat Contest
saw CCI ranking 1Oth out of 20 schools. Jeff Stransky led the team followed by Sue Caughill. Both were placed in the Honour Roll and Jeff received a Certificate of Distinction.
Congratulations to all these students for their excellent efforts and representation of CCI.

RT.: The Grade 10 team reached a 4th place position beating out the Barrie schools!
