The CCI Senior Boy's Basketball Team enjoyed a very good season. The Collingwood Seniors finished first in the South Division of Simcoe County for the third straight year and qualified again for the GBSSA championships. CCI enjoyed a 7-1 league record with an overall record of 15-13. Tournament high lights included being consolation finalists in the Collingwood McDonald's Senior Invitational and the York University Invitational.
The Fighting Owls were led by Chris Fischer who averaged over 25 points per game and led the team on the defensive and offensive boards. "The Fish" established himself as the most domi- nant player in Simcoe County, as was shown in CCI's final victory Barrie Central in the playoffs when he scored 43 points and dominated defensively.
Tim Bulmer led the team in assists and was chosen the MVP in the Simcoe County All Star Game . Other grad uating Seniors included Bob Robinson (captain of the All-Stars), Ray Sheffield, who was a one-man press-breaker, Reg Sheffield who returned in mid-season to add speed and strength, Chris Sproule who was the most im- proved of the graduating Seniors, and Herb McEachern who transferred from Stayner.
First year Seniors included Rob Duda who showed great offensive potential and solid defen- sive rebounding, Andrew Sneyd (most improved shooter), Dan Walker and Peter Mitchell who helped the team during the second half of the season, Rob Hunter who showed great hustle on defence and Dave Bristow .
The graduating Seniors, who were on last year's GBSSA Senior Championship Team, have
many memories and coach Hirst wishes them well in their future.
