            A Fun Season for the
irl's Volleyball Teams Juniors Go to Playoffs!
The Midget Girls Basketball team had a successful & enjoyable season. They were undefeated in league and play-off games and the champions of the lnnisdale Tournament. The winning season, unfortunately, came to a sudden halt and we "choked" in the first game of the G.B.S.S.A. finals. We faced the Midland Mauraders in a close, hard-fought game. The C.C.I. Owls fought back from a 20 point deficit at the first quarter to pull within 6 points, but the Mauraders proved to be too much as the Owls went down to defeat.
There is tremendous potential for a winning Junior Team next year.
The members of the Midget Girls Volleyball Team were: BK. ROW: Michelle Crago, Marilese Keller, Carol Patten, Jodi Robinson, Traci Sneyd, Jennifer Garland, Coach Sharp FR. ROW: Jen Weiss, Jodi Blakeman, Carlie Sharp, Colleen Rowe, Sheila Rolling, Teri-Jo Ferguson.
The Junior Girl's Volleyball Team had a very successful season in 1989-1990. The team started its season on a 'High', winning the Stayner season opening tournament. Following these successes, the team had an inconsistent record in both regular season and tournament play . The team steadily improved and their play peaked at the Simcoe County Zone finals where they overcame two strong opponents to win the championship. The next week in the G.B.S.S.A. playoffs, the team earned third place.
The team was led by second year players Tara Deffet, April McCullough, Jill Blakeman, and Sherry Death. All players and coaches- Mrs. Nickel and Mrs. Gillham deserve congratulations for a terrific seasonI
Jr. members were:

Our girls had an enjoyable and moderately successful year, narrowly miss- ing the playoffs. The highlights included early morning trips to distant tour- naments, the day Mr. Norman got his nickname, the Pizza Hut Invitational, and the good attitude and fellowship that was evident with the team. Next year we are planning our first International Tournament. Crash and Shack thank you for a great year!
TOP RT.: Marsha Pifher con- templates the up-coming game while the rest of her senior teammates sit back and relax. MID.: Coach Sharp's Midgets and (BOT. RT.) our Junior Owls. BOT.
