Taking place on May 4, 1989, the fourth annual Model United Nations Simulation was once again a complete suc- cess. For the first time, there were actually eleven, rather than ten, schools from around Simcoe County gathered in the C.C.I. gymnasium. The issues included in the day were the ad- mittance of Switzerland to the United Nations, South Africa and Apartheid and the Persian Gulf Shipping. Special thanks have to be handed out to both Mr. Ralph Sneyd and Mr. John Sneyd for their wisdom and guidance, Kim Stockdale for her tireless effort as Secretary General, and the Head Table con- sisting of: Shawn Mitchell as President; Katie Clugston as Vice-President; and Kim Stevenson as Monitor of Speeches. The C.C.I. players gave an extraordinary effort to the entire success of the day. Without their imaginative costumes, in- telligent speeches and rebuttals and their overall enthusiasm, the day would not have been the success that it was.
These students were: Jody Ottewell; Sherri Black; Michael Doupe; Tim Culham; David Currie; laura Mcleod; Sue Caughill; Geof.f Doner; and.Todd Headon. Also deserving special mentioh are the pages and research assistants Nicole Levesque and Aaron Harnden. It is most evident that next year's simulation will be just as big a success as in previous years .
