It was a warm spring morning when the C.C.I choir and the Coll- ingwood Optimist Youth Band decided to take on Montreal. It was late that afternoon when this group of talented individuals came to the con- clusion that they had been on the bus for too long. Luckily they were near Kingston, where they would be resting that evening. When they arrived in Kingston they were very privileged to be able to attend the Kingston high school's band preformance, and they were outstanding!
That night they were billeted by the members of Kingston's band. They also got the experience of very long bus rides back into the school the next morning, since most of these people lived out in the country.
When everyone finally reached the school with all their luggage it was loaded back on the bus. By this time everyone was excited and ready to tackle Montreal.
They arrived in Montreal just in time to do a little shopping before dinner. After dinner it was time to relax and get unpacked in your hotel room.
Later on that evening everyone decided that they wanted to take a refreshing dip in the hotel pool. Refreshing dip was right, the water was approximately 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
The next day was filled with fun and excitement. They performed at a local high school and at Place de Ia Cathedral, a shopping mall underneath a Cathedral. The rest of the afternoon was reserved for more shopping.
That evening they attended a preformance by David Copperfield , a very impressive illusionist.
The next day was their last day, for tomorrow they would be heading home. On this day they visited the Notre Dame Cathedral and also received a guided tour of Montreal. Once again the rest of the day was reserved for last minute shopping.
The last evening nobody slept because they were excited about re- turning to Collingwood.
They did return safe and sound the next day around dinner time. The first thing that everyone told their parents about was, when the bus got lost on the tiny streets of Montreal, and when attempting to turn down a one way street the wrong way they hit a parked car . That was definitely one of the trips they would never forget!
