FROM FOREST HILLS'
Mad-libs! Water in the face! Trampoline acts! All of these have become cherished memories of what is now known as 'the very-off Broadway Hit: That 'hit' is Neil Simon's play, :<\ Visitor From Forest Hills; a comedy which shows the struggle be- tween a husband and wife as they try to get their daughter out of the bathroom, 'so she can go down and get married: The humour shone through as Rebecca 'Flannel Nightie' Kosmas, and Steve 'Can't talk to me in the morning' Black, brought their characters to life Each one was rec- ognized for his/her performances at the Sears Georgian Bay Drama Festival where they each received a prestigious award for outstanding performances. The awards at the Barrie festival did not end there CCI. was chosen as one of three plays to per- form at the next level of competition which will be in 'Rockin' Elmira' in April. I am more than pleased with the success of the play. We had a great crew (I think we were the only group with a larger crew than cast!).
Relax Laura, everything will work out! Well, everything did work out, yet had it not been for the support and commitment from both Mrs. Chandler and Mr. Benbow, the play would probably still be on the shelf.
Directing this play has been a love-hate relationship ... for each time I became 'stressed-out', I laughed twice as much. Who Knows, maybe I'll direct a sequel 'Borden and Mimsey . . . Honeymoon in the bathroom'
