      In February, 1991, 54 students from C.C.I participated in the Canadian Mathematics against 62000 other Canadian Students. The competition provided a challenge for students and their teacher~oaches to strive for excellence and enthusiasm in the area of Mathematics.
In the Grade 9 Pascal Competition (TOP LT.). Michael Dunning (CCI's top grade 9 sludent) Karrie Baulke were placed on the Honour Roll. Along with them, Adam Federer and Richard received Certificates of Distinction for students ranking in the top 25% of all contestants Canada. C.C.I.'s grade 10 Cayley team (MID.LT.) of Tameeze Sunderji, Andrew Mickelson, and Carol
Patten were placed on the Honor Roll. Tameez was given a medal as the best grade 10 and Andrew and Carol both received Certificates of Merit. Members of this team were, BK. ROW: L. Skinner, T. Taylor, C. Patten. MID. ROW: Teacher Mr. French, M. Robinson, J. Houghton, K. Nurcombe, J. Blakeman, G. Cook. FRONT ROW: J. Robinson, A. Mickelson, R. Wilson, T . Sneyd, M. Gallupe.
Finally, our Grade 11 Fermat team (BOT. LT.) of Michael Vallins (winner of the top grade 11 medal), Gordon Fischer, Corey Stephenson, and Susan Haynes won positions on the Honour Roll. Both Michael and Gord received Certificates of Merit. Members of this team were, BK. ROW: J. Hamilton, M. Rogers, G. McAllister, C. Stephenson, G. Fischer. MID. ROW: S. Nur- combe, S. Haynes, A. Miles, L. Lachapelle. FRONT ROW: B. Dunlop, S. Smith, C. Duyvestyn.
C.C.I. students hosted this year's United Nation's Day with students from throughout Simcoe County taking part. They took a break from hypothetical issues and focussed on the conclusions of the Middle East War. Along with a realistic debate were the costumed participants depicting the foreign policy positions of their nations_This one-day event was six months in the making.
