This fall saw the grade 10 History and Contemporary Studies students perform a Mock Trial focusing on the charge of 2nd degree murder where Peter Oempski (BOT. - alias Ron Higdon) the accused, is charged in the arranging of his wife's death.
The trial is design to give students a better understanding of how our legal system works by allowing them to play the roles of the people involved such as Marty North (TOP) and Kim Gross (BOT.) as Crown attornies.
Three classes participated in the event. Mr. Wilkinson prepared defence while Mr. Spencer prepared Crown and the witnesses were courtesy of Mr. Jones. Local Lawyer, Brian Greasley acted as judge.
By the way, the accused was found guilty!
