They Were NOT Just Faces in a Crowd!
Mter 33 years, Mr. John Liotta has retired, completing a noble career in education. He began teaching in Toronto from 1960-1965. At this time, he moved to C.C.I., but only stayed 1 term for he decided to sample the business world and began employ- ment for Oshawa Wholesale. He de- cided that teaching was his true love so he moved to Stayner C.I. as Gui- dance head. He remained here until 1981. He then returned to CCI, this time as vice-principal and stayed un- til his retirement. Out of the office and classroom, Mr. Liotta has always displayed a love for coaching for he
found it as another way for students to achieve excellence and goals. Dur- ing his 25 years as a coach, he led many basketball teams to Georgian Bay championships.
Mr. Liotta had a great passion for helping young people and he hoped that he was able to make a difference, no matter how large or small, in the lives of his students.

Mrs. Mary Gale started teaching in the Bus- iness Department at C.C.I. in September of 1977. Prior to this, she was Assistant Director of the Business Department at Saunders Se- condary School in London. Mrs. Gale has taught a variety of business subjects over the years. Grade 9 keyboarding, Grade 11 Office Procedures, Cost Accounting and Business Ma- chines are just a few . The last four years, Mrs. Gale has provided leadership and expertise to the adult students taking her double credit Of- fice Administration course. It can truly be said
that Mrs. Gale's high standards were reflected in her students.
For the entire first year, she travelled 2 112 hours each way from her home in Huntsville. Just like the mail carrier ofold, "through wind and rain and sleet and snow", Mrs. Gale never missed a day, even when blizzard conditions closed the roads. It took persistance and ded- ication, but she did it!
Mrs. Gale's future plans include travelling to visit her children in Ottawa and Australia. -Mrs. Weston
