Mrs. Shirley Flint entered the hallowed halls of CCI in the summer of 1969 as Head Secretary ofa staffoftwo. However, since that time, things have greatly changed - from the equipment that Mrs. Flint has used, to the size of the building and to the number of staff and students. She arrived under then Principal Mr. J. Mcintyre and has since welcomed and bid farewell to Mr. D. Moyer, Mr. B. Mitch- ell, Mr. B. Giller, Mr. J . Freudeman and Mr. G. Minardi. Mr. T . Moore is now in command as Mrs. Flint herself is bid good- bye.
Initially, Mrs. Flint's desk was in the front office where she loved the day-to- day contact with the students. As the of- fice staff grew and her work became much more complex, the nature of Mrs. Flint's job necessitated her moving to the back office where she wasn't able to have as much contact with the students. Howeyer, her interest in the young people of CCI and their welfare never waned and she still enjoys mingling and chatting with them whenever possible.
Although she has been directly and in- directly involved in all aspects ofthe stu- dents' education, she has particularly been involved with Commencement for many years. When a plaque, scholarship, diploma or trophy were awarded, it was due to the many hours spent by Mrs. Flint organizing for the big "night. As well, she gave up many weekends volunteering her time at various fundraising events. Staff members aiways knew that she would go out of her way to assist them.
After so many years of giving, Shirley, you can now sit back and rest. You de- serve it! Good luck and best wishes al- ways!
- Miss E. Fyfe
