Who says only guys play football? Last October brought a return of WOMEN'S FLAG FOOTBALL to the C.C.I. sporting scene. Sending two teams to the Park Street Invitational, the C.C.I. women had a great day. With teams in both divisions, we lost only three games all day, and won a divi- sion and a championship. Congratula- tions goes out to all ofour Women Flag Football players for a great season! Members of this team (MID. RT.) were: Melissa Abbotts, Karrie Baulke, Kelly Clarke, Amy Cowan, Rebecca Dobbin, Alison Dunning, Katherine Ferney- hough, Erin Fryer, Jen Greek, Jody Lougheed, Chris Mackenzie, Devon Mcinnes, Sara McQueen, Kristy Me- lanson, Tanya Munro, Jen Ransier, Robyn Rezac, Marybeth Savage, Jen Schell, Alysha Stoangi, Holly Thomp- son, 'Th.ra 'Ibsh, Patty Vance, and
Courtney Wilson.
The ANNUAL HURONIA GOLF TOURNAMENT was held at the Mid- land Golf and Country Club on Thurs- day Oct. 6th. Eighteen, six-person teams of High School Seniors partici- pated. With four scores counting for team honours, the C.C.I. total of 337 earned them second to host Midland who were only 3 strokes better. Ben Smith with 78, Chris Melynk and Brett Donald with 86's and Ed Akitt with 87 had the four counting scores for C.C.I. Jay Wiele and Daniel Long-
mire were the other members of the Collingwood team. The score of 78 by Smith was the second best individual score in the tournament.
The Annual Huronia Invitational Golf 'Iburnament was held at the Midland Golf and Country Club on Monday Sep- tember 26th. Twenty, six-person teams of High School Juniors participated.
The C.C.I. team was led by Ryan Jackson who shot an excellent 76 and Andrew Hooper with 80. With four scores counting for team hon- ours, the C.C.I. total of 342 earned them second to host Midland who were only 3 strokes better. Andrew McKay, Trevor Flint, Gary Gar- butt, and Brad Plummer were the other members of the team. The score of 76 gave Jackson a tie for low individual gross in the tour- nament. The next lowest score was the 80 by Hooper. TheCHEERLEADINGSQUAD consisted of 6 senior and 10 junior girls who added great enthusiasm to the football season. Although the team disbanded early, the spring team worked hard to learn
new cheers and spread school spirit. The cheerleaders (BOT. LT) were: F. ROW: Erin Currie, Crys- tal Kedziora, Tanya Denomme, Ju- lie Brown, Christa Trumbly, Kelly Murphy, MID: Tara Chattel (co- captain), Allison Pollard, Amanda Rice, Melanie Mason, Rena Mid- dleton, BK: Roslyn Turner (cap- tain), Sharon Smith, and Kristen Phillips.
