A TIME TO REMEMBER AND
A TIME TO HELP OTHERS
The Special Olympics, held from Feb. 1st to 8th, put the town of Collingwood on the world map as thousands of athletes, coaches and fans converged at Duntroon Highlands + Blue Mountain. Organization of the games took almost 3 years + it was noted from the beginning that in order for the week to run smoothly, there would be a need for at least 2000 community volunteers . Once again , CCI was there to provide a helping hand . Former Minne-kee students were called upon to assist with the snowshoe demonstration. Mrs. Weston's 'Hospitality is Good Business' co-op class of Leeanna Bell, Tracey Brown, Liam Bryans, Mike Carnevale, Dan Lennox, Miguel Martin, Trevor McCarl, Kirk McNabb, Devin Pearson, Brad Plummer, Chris Rawn, Lyle Smith, Ron Sturgess, Shaun Talbot and Mike Vancise did a variety of jobs ranging from setting up equipment, running information from one locale to another to escorting athletes.
