lthough Hallowe'en is only one day a year, it has become a week long festival of events at CCI with a great deal of emphasis being placed on the FACE! It began with the carving of pumpkins by the homerooms. For two days, there was a fury of activity with the traditional moans as the sli-
mey insides were removed and the scraping sounds as paring knives and spoons shaped the features. After very difficult judg- ing, Mr. Coukell's class was named the winner and Matt Pretty, bearing a strong resemblance to ET, sported their creation on his head for the day. At lunch hour, many attempted to earn the fastest time in hay rolling, not an easy task. After a few attempts, several members of the Sr. Football team came up with an excellent time, but ended with a hay stack. The

Hallowe'en Dance was considered highly successful because of the number in attendance and the amount of food brought in for the Food Bank. The costumes were considered to be outstanding. The G.l. Jills of Shauna Robinson, Brooke An- drews, Rebecca Ross, Sarah Osburn and Abbey Spies were chosen as Best Group, Yoda and Darth Vader, also known as Angie Haynes and Glenna Riesberry, were Best Couple, De- rek Knight was the Best Male and Lindsay 'Sunflower' Allcock was named Best Female. The mood to dress up continued to October 31st. and FACES that bore masks or paint appeared in every class. In the hallways, one came FACE 2 FACE with some very unusual characters!
