Jlly expecting his team to go on to GB's. At St. heresa's in midland the following week, the team {ed up to its' number one ranking by, once again, oing undefeated in round-robin play. The defeated lmaguin Central, Barrie, lnnisdale and host St. heresa's fairly handily. It was on to the final. ln- isdale was the opposition and caught the women t a low point plus tension was also a factor. We ·ent down to defeat 15-9. With a couple of adjust- lents, however, the Jr. Owls won the next game 5-12 and in the third and final game jumped out • a quick 8-0 lead, before losing serve and ex- mded it to 13-0 before allowing the opposition a Jint. Final score -lnnisdale 4, Collingwood 15! The 9W Junior GB champions were named and they ere the first since 1985-86 to bring home the title
It was a great season. These young women can 9 extremely proud of the way that they played and 1presented the school. As one referee commented : the last match, "Your team can really kick . .... when it wants to!" Thanks to Ted Kern for I of his help during the season. Without his ad- ce, the team wouls not have been as successful. lso thanks to Michelle LaChance for all of her ef- ·rls earlier in the season at getting the team into 'ighting Owl ' form . The Senior Girls Volleyball Team experienced 1 up and down season. They finished fourth out
seven teams during regular league play. They lrformed exceedingly well in the play-offs and were mowly defeated by the first and second place ams. This super group of girls represented CCI 911 at the Huntsville Tournament (great skaters, nnis players and story tellers!) and at Jllingwood's Tournament. Good luck to the grads. ·.
