Springtime intramurals were full of both senior and junior action and ex- citement in a number of sports, with 'Fun in the Sun Day' ensuring every student's participation in the athletic program . The annual banquet brought hundres of athletes together and was a great way to remember a year of fun and competition. The athletes wear the uniforms , play the games, hear their names on the morning announcements and have their photo appear in the local newspa- per . They receive the cheering of the fans and the yelling of the coaches. However, even though the attention is on the field or court, the players are well aware that the game could not be played with- out the help of the various officials. (OPP PG, TOP LT) Like the one wearing the Fighting Owl outfit, they too must often endure cold, rainy weather and a later supper. The Minor Officials on the Foot- ball field were: Paul Hazlewood, Nick Murray, Tyler Hunt, Greg Vancise, Chon Wing Lam, Jenny Wong and Brianna Wypich. The Basketball Minor Offi- cials are the unsung heroes of CCI's successful basketball programs. They are known throughout the country to be reliable and very effecient. The

The CCI Fighting Owls took flight during the 1996-97 school year! Athletic teams were at their best as many travelled to GBSSA finals and ad- vanced to OFSAA championships. While our inter- school athletic program found successes, so did our newly installed Grade 9 athletic program. Grade
