Coached by Mr. Bracey, Jason McCarl and Luke, the Junior Boys Basketball Team were ranked the# I team in this area with a record of 7 wins- 2 losses. They finished their season with a 3'd place ranking after a play-off loss against a strong Huntsville team. Alex Trott and Marco Yui, a 3'd year junior, acted as co-captains along with a strong starting line- up of Marco, Alex, Jordan Gardhouse, Jayden Bourgard, Nick Arthur and Adam Casey. A high five to each player for a great season! The CCI Senior Boys Basketball Team had an outstanding year, finishing with 20 victories against 6 defeats and reached GB Finals for the first time in over a decade. During the season, they were the consolation champions in the Cambridge Glenview Park Invitational, finalists in the Marr Ross Invitational at Innisdale and consolation champions in the 15'h Annual Collingwood McDonald's Senior Invitational. CCI was undefeated in league play and posted a 5-0 record against all Barrie schools, including 2-0 against the Barrie City Champions Barrie Central. Capt. Jon Cudney, a tournament all- star, led the Owls in scoring and was co-defensive player oftre year. Mike Liotta, also co-defender o f the year, offered defensive punch. Jacob Carr
was the starting point guard and orchestrated the offence while Matt Campbell, who led the team in rebounds, was the chairman ofthe boards. Mike Hillier was the team's leading 3 point scroer and second over-all scorer. Andrew Comly started for the Owls before a knee injury sidelined Whispers, but he came back late in the season and played well at GB's. Chad Amis was the CCI Sr.'s most improved player, Danny Demers added valuable scoring and John Jardine was the back-up point guard. Mike Broadhurst and Richard Matthews added boards with Darah Queiser and Justin Visser inspiring dee-fense and adding outside shooting from the bene!}. Coach Hirst and the team congratulate the graduating Sr. Owls.
