It was a banner year for the Junior Boys' Football Team as they completed a perfect 8 and 0 season. Along the way, some of the hardware included the Len Roque trophy awarded for a victory over Stayner; the Memorial Cup for the regular season championship; the G.B.S.S.A title (the first time since 1986); and theCentralBowlfor beating theN.O.S.S.A. champs from North Bay.
Individual honours went to Josh Sanderson who won the Refer- ees' Award in the G.B.S.S.A. finals, and Blake Morrison who was named the M.V.P. of the game. While only two players were formally recognized for their individual achievements, this squad's success depended on a total team effort.
From day one of training camp until a bitterly cold afternoon at York University, the Junior Footballers exhibited the traits that character- ize Fighting Owls across the county: heart, determination, work ethic, commitment, intelligence, savvy, and humour.
The boys are grateful for the support from the community, school, families, and coaches and look forward to competing again next season.
