Who took GB's for the 2nd year?
r. Girls Basketball Team had a successful season with an undefeated ,record, 21 wins against 8 losses overall. They ended with a close loss to ale in the GB Finals. However, they competed in several top tournaments xovince, capturing the Owen Sound West Hill Invitational and ending in .als on 4 out of 5 tournaments. They were ranked 3'd in Ontario. Led by lal Programe member and Ontario Team starter Nicole Trott who was the g scorer and rebounder, she was followed by defensive standout, Stacey Jxmeer. Kristy McLaughlin was named All-Star at Fanshawe and Cheryl ey, team captain, was second in rebounds. Aleda Carr showed great vement along with znd leading scorer, Andrea Bevan. Amy Blackwood defensive standout and Kelsey Nickel was znd in rebounds. Other mem- dding speed and defense were Megan McAndrew, Lisa Wiele, Jenna Jd and Heather Kea. Best wishes to the graduating Srs.
The Senior Boys Basketball Team had a very successful year. The Seniors finished with 13 victories against 9 defeats over the sea son and reached the GBSSA Final Four. During the season, CCI were Bronze medallists in the Bear Creek Invitational, captured two overtime wins and w
or the CCI Seniors and was the Most Improved Player. Rookie of the Year Adam Smith was the dunk champion of the Senior Fighting Owls. With the double cohort, CCI may lose the entire roster of the Senior Owls next year. Mr. Hirst wishes good luck to all graduating Seniors from this year's squad.
The Jr. Girls Basketball Team had a very successful season winning their league, 2 tournaments (Orillia Blackball and CCI Invitational), coming 2"d in 2 others and wrapping it up with the GB Championship along with the AAAA r. Girls Bball Championship for the 2"ct year in a row! With only 2 returning players, they downed Innisdale Invaders to capture the title 53 -31. Allison Lainey led the scorers with 16 points and Brooke Nickel contributed 12. In the semi-finals against Eastview, Brooke scored 17 pts, Allison 9 and Nadine Schwieshe1m and Jasmine Cuff each scored 8.
